A simple technology for making smooth, neat concrete pillars at home
To install a fence or trellis under grapes, posts are required. The cheapest and most durable solution would be concrete ones, but they don’t cost a penny. If you want to save money, then make them yourself.
Materials:
- Edged board;
- polyethylene film;
- fittings;
- knitting wire;
- sand;
- cement;
- crushed stone
The process of making concrete pillars
To fill the column, you need to make a mold from a board. This is done simply. You need to cut 3 boards to the required length of the posts and screw them together with self-tapping screws to get a U-shaped profile.
The mold blank is closed on the sides with plugs. The latter will need to be drilled for the input of reinforcement. For thin posts with a cross-section of 10 cm, two holes are sufficient.
The inside of the form is covered with film. It is fixed at the edges of the boards with a stapler.
Then the reinforcement is placed into the mold. Its edges are fixed in the holes of the plugs. The rods are tied with wire.
Next, the concrete is prepared.For 1 part of cement, take 2 sand and 3-4 crushed stone. You can make it without coarse filler. The solution should not be too liquid. It is poured into the mold and leveled. It is necessary to create vibration by tapping so that the concrete compacts.
On the second day, the screws are unscrewed from the mold, and it disassembles. Sludges of concrete can be cut off while it has not yet completely hardened. Next, the molds are put back together and the next batch of pillars is poured.
