6 tricks when working with paint so as not to stain everything

Painting walls is hard work that requires skill and patience. For a beginner, while working, the paint ends up not only in the places for which it was intended - on the floor, ceiling or head. Experienced craftsmen do not have this question, because the skill is high and the process is streamlined. There are a few tricks you can use to make DIY home repairs.

How to get rid of paint splatters from a roller

Of course, the correct answer to this question is not to put an excessive amount of paint on the roller, but if there is no intuitive understanding yet, this issue can be solved with a simple device - a screen made of a plastic bottle. We make a hole in the lid for mounting on the bracket, and cut half of the bottle with scissors. The roller roller is installed in place after the screen.

Now, when painting a wall, all the paint will not fly in different directions.

Brush holder

The fewer splashes of paint that miss the target, the easier subsequent cleaning is. The brushes keep dripping paint for a while, so the best solution is to place them above the paint tray.To secure them, you will need a stand, which can be made from any porous material - a piece of polyethylene foam, foam rubber, or other similar material will do. It's enough to make one cut to secure it to the tray and the right amount for the brushes, and your workspace will become a little more orderly.

Device for painting walls near the ceiling

To make this device you will have to put in a little more effort, but it will allow you to quickly paint the wall and not touch the ceiling. It is a roller stop that is installed on the brush and guides it. For production you need two rollers and two flats of metal.

The strips can optionally be pre-bent so that they protrude less beyond the dimensions of the brush, after which three holes are drilled into them - two for fastening with self-tapping screws and one for the roller.

The rollers will keep the keel straight.

Electrical tape as a means of maintaining cleanliness

There are often drops left on the paint can that run down the wall. This is easy to deal with - if you stick two strips of electrical tape on the can at an angle (painting cattle will be even better), drops of paint will remain on it, and not on the can.

Speeding up the cleaning process

The easiest and fastest way to clean tools is the one that didn't exist. If you put a bag on a paint tray, then only the bag will get dirty; after finishing the work, you can simply throw it away.

Mechanization of brush cleaning

Another method for the lazy. The brush, unlike the tray, will still have to be washed, but this process can be speeded up if you secure it in the chuck of a drill or screwdriver. The easiest way to do this is to screw a self-tapping screw into the end of the brush, and then cut off the head.
