Wine bottle stand made from newspaper tubes
This wine bottle holder will be a great addition to your holiday table. It is very light and easy to make. And it will harmonize well with your interior.
For work we will need:
- newspaper.
- skewer.
- scissors.
- paper.
- gouache or watercolor paints.
- universal glue "Titan".
- brush for painting.
Let's get to work. We take newspaper and cut it into strips measuring 10x40 cm. This length is enough for our tube.
We take a skewer and begin to carefully wind the newspaper onto it. Roll tightly and slowly. Don't forget to hold the edges of the newspaper and skewer.
When we have twisted the entire tube, to prevent it from unwinding, we glue the end of the newspaper to the tube.
We prepare a large number of tubes at once.
We cut out the base for the stand from paper. We take a square 28x28 cm, two sides, bottom and right, will also remain twenty-eight cm. On the left side we measure 14 cm. And cut from the right base to the left marked point. The cut should be 31 cm. This will be the basis for the wine stand.
One by one, we begin to glue the tubes to the base.Let the glue dry well.
Well, our base is ready.
Cut out a circle with a diameter of 9.5 cm from thick cardboard. This will be the bottom for the stand. On the side that will be inside the stand, glue plain white paper. We connect and glue the base of the stand. Insert and glue the bottom to the bottom dew edge.
When the glue dries, we begin to decorate the stand. To do this, let's take a tube. Squeeze the tube so that it becomes flat. And we start gluing from the top. Pasting only around the edge.
When we have glued the cut, we begin to further glue it to the bottom. Having reached the bottom, we make a full turn along the edge of the bottom. And we fix one edge of the tube under the other.
Let's start painting the stand. We will have 2 colors to paint, white and brown. The first layer will be white. We paint over everything so that the letters on the newspaper are not visible. When the paint has dried and there is no trace left of the reminder of the newspapers, we proceed to the next painting. We take brown paint and paint everything again. We are waiting for the paint to dry. We paint the inner walls of the stand with the same paint.
When the paint inside dries, our stand for a bottle of wine will be ready.
Good luck to all.
