How to drill a bearing or tool steel with a cheap drill bit
Workpieces made of bearing or tool steel are difficult to drill. Despite their hardness, this can be done with the most common inexpensive concrete drill. To do this you just need to sharpen it a little.
What you will need:
- Drill for concrete;
- emery machine;
- drill or drilling machine.

Drill conversion process
Typically, a concrete impact drill with a Pobedit tip has a slightly different sharpening angle, and therefore is in no way capable of coping with drilling steel. To make this work, it should be sharpened using sandpaper.
The soldering produces corners and sharp edges, as on conventional metal drills.
After such fine-tuning, the drill will be able to drill into hard steel.
Of course, it will not go into it like butter, like expensive universal or specialized drills, but it will still be able to drill hardened knife blades, files, and even a bearing ball.
