What can be made from scraps of PVC pipes? 5 useful ideas
The scraps of plastic pipes remaining after repairs can not be thrown away, but put to good use. It’s easy to make various devices out of them, from a dust collector for drilling to stands for wall-mounted tool storage. Plastic pipes do not rust or rot, so the structures made from them are durable.
1. Tube for welding electrodes
From a piece of 50 mm plastic pipe you can make a tube for welding electrodes.
To do this, a piece 40 cm long is cut from it. Next, 2 metal lids from Euro cans are selected to match the diameter of the pipe. They need to be put together to drill in the center, and again at the very edge.
The covers need to be screwed together through the central hole with a bolt, but do not clamp too tightly.
You will also need to prepare a piece of packing tape 45-50 long to make a handle for the tube from it.
Now you need to install the caps on the tube. On one side there is a double lid, and on the other there is a whole lid. They are screwed on the side with self-tapping screws so as to also secure the tape handle.
You can store welding electrodes in such a tube.To remove them, you need to rotate the double cover to align the holes. All that remains is to shake out the electrode.
2. Belt hammer holder
On a piece of pipe 50 mm long, 10 cm long, it is necessary to cut out part of the wall along one side, and cut a window exactly opposite, the height of which exceeds the width of the waist belt. The burrs are polished after cutting.
Now the holder can be put on the belt and secured by inserting a nail between them.
It is possible to attach not only a hammer to the device, but also other tools, for example, pliers.
3. Dust collector for drilling
This device will allow you to drill into walls without raising a cloud of dust. To make it, you will need a piece of pipe 20-30 cm long. One of its edges is cut at an angle of 30-45 degrees.
The beveled edge of the tube is drilled. A plastic bag is secured to the flat end with an elastic band.
Now you can drill the wall through the hole in the device, and all the dust can be collected in the bag. The result is no less clean than using a vacuum cleaner, only easier and without additional noise.
4. Wall holder for drill
It is necessary to make a hole in a piece of tube 7-10 cm long, like in a keyhole. This allows you to hook it to a nail or screw driven into the wall. A drill can be stored in a wall-hung holder. screwdriver, hair dryer.
5. Wall mount for screwdrivers
To make such a hanger, you need to prepare a piece of pipe with a diameter of 20-25 mm. Holes are drilled in it in a row, with a step of 3 cm. You also need to make a through hole from the edges, but in a perpendicular direction relative to the first ones.
The tube is screwed to the wall horizontally through holes along the edges. Now you can display screwdrivers, files, and awls on it. All instruments will be in order and in sight.
