How to make a scooter based on a trimmer engine
On average, the price of a scooter for adults today starts from 15 thousand rubles. Not everyone can shell out that amount of money at once without damaging the family budget. If you still have the engine from an inoperative lawn mower, then any adult with metal handling skills can assemble the scooter.
Will need
Materials:
- two pneumatic wheels;
- brake disk;
- extended and regular nuts, bolts, screws and washers;
- large and small gear;
- round and profile pipes;
- steel plates;

The process of making a homemade scooter based on an engine from a lawn mower
We weld a plate onto the disc hub of one wheel, having first widened the central hole and drilled the side holes using a stencil. We will attach a large gear to it later.

We weld the brake disc using the elongated nuts to the other side of the hub, having first screwed them to the disc.
In a large gear wheel, drill 5 holes equidistant from the center around the central hole.
Using welding, we assemble a frame from round pipes and plates, consisting of longitudinal and transverse elements.
We also assemble a fork for the front wheel from profile and round pipes with plates with holes welded at the ends and reinforced supports.
We cut off the “horns” from an old bicycle fork, and weld the steering tube with the fork crown in the center of the diameter of a homemade fork from a profile pipe.

We weld a bicycle steering column to the recesses of the profile pipe, cut at the design angle. Install the swivel wheel into the fork using the axle and nuts. We weld the other end of the profile pipe to the crossbars of the frame made of round pipes.
We weld the steering wheel, stem and steering column extension from a pipe of the appropriate diameter. We install the steering column of the front wheel fork into the steering tube and secure it with nuts. We connect the steering wheel extension to the steering column.
On the brushcutter engine, we replace the old shaft with a new one. Using two shaped plates with holes, bolted to the engine body, we attach it to a rigid base plate by welding.
We cut off a short section with splines from the rigid shaft extension, which we insert into the splines of the engine shaft. Then we put a small sprocket on it and weld it to a section with splines, taking into account the location of the large sprocket attached to the rear wheel hub flange.
We insert the other end of the segment into a bearing pressed into a ring welded to a vertical plate, which, in turn, is welded to the base. But before that, you need to put the drive chain on the sprockets.
We install the engine with its base in front of the rear wheel slightly to the right and weld it to the longitudinal elements of the frame. To stiffen the frame and install the platform, we weld two more plates transversely.
From the brake disc side to the vertical plate welded to the frame, we bolt the brake mechanism.
We paint the frame and attach a sheet metal platform to its elements with rivets.
We connect the corresponding handles on the steering wheel with cables to the engine and brakes. Our homemade scooter based on an engine from a lawn mower is ready to move.
