A simple do-it-yourself fixer for a plastic window made from available materials
The standard ventilation function, in the form of an inclined flap, does not always provide the required air inflow or outflow. If you open the window wide, it is possible that the wind will blow stronger than necessary. A do-it-yourself fixer will help create the desired air flow in the room.
How to make a clamp for a plastic window sash
We cut a blank of the required length from an aluminum plate 2 cm wide.
At the edges of the workpiece along the midline we mark the centers and drill holes, departing from one end 1 cm, with a diameter of 0.4 cm, and from the other - 1.5 cm and a diameter of 1.2 cm.
We fasten the plate through the smaller hole to the inside of the window frame at the calculated location using a self-tapping screw with a round head, placing a nut of suitable size between the frame and the plate. We do not tighten the self-tapping screw completely so that the plate can rotate freely around the self-tapping screw, as if on an axis of rotation.
We open the window sash and place the plate with a large hole on the locking pin, which protrudes from the sash frame and has a cylindrical shape. If the window needs to be closed, then simply remove the locking plate from the trunnion and fix the window in the closed position using the handle.
