Delicious potato chips WITHOUT oil or frying

Crispy chips have long been a part of the lives of those who like to have a quick snack or simply treat themselves to unusual tastes. But we don’t always know what exactly is included in a particular product. We invite you to make your own homemade potato chips. And in two versions at once - simple and with garlic.

Ingredients

The following products will be required:

  • potatoes – 600 gr.;
  • water – 60 ml;
  • salt – 1 tsp;
  • ground pepper to taste.

The indicated amount of main products will require another 1 tsp. chopped garlic and 2/3 tsp. oregano. Add the ingredients at the moment when we add salt to the mashed potatoes.

For the garlic cheese sauce you will need:

  • butter – 5 g.,
  • milk – 2.5 tbsp. l.;
  • cheddar cheese – 35 gr.;
  • garlic – 2-3 cloves;
  • sugar, salt.

Process of making potato chips

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut into small cubes, place in a glass or ceramic bowl, and fill with water.

And cook in the microwave for 7-8 minutes at the highest power. During the process, you can take it out 1-2 times and mix. Depending on your oven, you may need a little more water. You can also boil the potatoes or cook them in the oven.But the microwave option is the fastest.

Mash until pureed with a masher, rub through a sieve so that there are no lumps left and the mass is homogeneous and soft, like cream.

Salt and add ground black pepper.

Place the mashed potatoes in a pastry bag or plastic bag from which you can cut off the tip. Place a silicone mat or parchment paper on a baking sheet. Squeeze out balls about 2 cm thick at a distance of 5-6 cm from each other. Cover each ball with parchment and press down with any flat object so that the potatoes are evenly flattened.

Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes. We carefully monitor the chips, since depending on the power of the oven, the time may vary slightly. We pry it with a knife and separate it from the paper.

Place butter in a gravy boat, squeeze garlic through a press and pour in 2.5 tbsp. l. warm milk. Add 1/2 tbsp. l. sugar, salt. Add the cheese cut into thin pieces and microwave for 30-40 seconds. Once the cheese is completely melted, mix everything thoroughly.

Tender, thin, crispy homemade potato chips and sauce are ready to go with them.
