Keychain made of viscose napkin
Keychains are equally loved by both adults and children. Although they are not essential items, but how present will suit everyone. Children love to attach figurines of their favorite cartoon characters to their bags. Men gladly accept keychains with car logos as gifts. Well, women really like a keychain for a mobile phone. Some keychains have built-in flashlights for convenience.
If we consider keychains, they are often talismans that are supposed to bring good luck or a reminder of some pleasant event in the past. In addition, such a keychain also brings practical benefits - keys are easier to find in your bag, and keys with a keychain are less likely to get lost.
Materials and tools:
• viscose napkin;
• threads;
• paper, felt-tip pen;
• cotton wool;
• beads (white and black);
• scissors.
1. First we make a pattern for the horse. On paper with a felt-tip pen, draw the figure of a fairy-tale horse. It consists of a head and torso; we do not draw legs.
2. Cut out the template from paper and trace it on a napkin. There is no need to add seam allowance for this pattern. We make two such parts.
3. Cut out horse patterns from a viscose napkin and start stitching. For sewing, choose contrasting threads.In the presented craft, turquoise threads are used to sew a yellow horse.
4. We sew the parts by hand. Carefully join with a seam “over the edge”. We make sure that the edges of the parts are sewn evenly.
5. But we don’t sew it all the way, we leave an unsewn space (one or two centimeters) to fill the horse. We don't cut the thread!
6. Fill the sewn figure. For filling, you can use ordinary medical cotton wool or more modern fillers: padding polyester, holofiber or other materials. We do not stuff the horse too tightly, the figure should remain a little flat. We sew the filling area with a seam “over the edge”.
7. Now let's start making the horse's legs. We make them from threads and beads. We string a bead onto a thread. We hook this thread onto the already sewn seam “over the edge” and cut the thread. We put a bead on the cut edge and tie a thread.
8. We make the front legs and hind legs.
9. In the same way, we make a tail from threads: we hook several threads onto the seam, but we do not tie them all into a knot at once, but two at a time. Threads can be of different lengths.
10. We make the mane in the same way as the tail. The threads for the mane and tail are approximately the same length. But a horse can have either a long or short mane or tail.
11. Now we revive the horse. Sew on the eyes using small black beads (you can glue them with strong adhesive).
12. The horse is ready. Using scissors, you need to trim the length of the strands in the tail and mane. Since we are making a keychain, we attach a metal ring to the top of the figure. Carefully make a piercing between the horse's ears and insert the ring.
13. Attach the prepared Horse keychain to the house keys.
This keychain made of viscose napkin is a simple, but at the same time original craft. And in the year of the Horse this is especially true!
