Openwork lily
A huge number of decorations can be made from fabric. This article will discuss the production of the “openwork lily” flower. It can be used to create various accessories: brooches, headbands, hair clips, decorations for bags, clothes, hats.
To work you need:
- 12 squares of beige fabric, size 6 x 6.
- straight tweezers.
- lighter.
- glue gun.
Sequence of work.
Each petal is folded separately, so all the petals of the future flower must be folded equally.
First, take one square and fold it diagonally twice. The result is a triangle folded into half.
Next, using tweezers, you need to twist one side of this triangle. You need to twist tightly and from the very edge.
After this, the triangle should be folded in half, but so that the curl made with tweezers is preserved and located in the center. Having held the fold with your fingers, you now need to release the tweezers in order to continue working with it. Next, the triangle should be held with tweezers.
By stepping back 2 cm from the top of the triangle, you can cut off all excess. This will be the length of the petal. The resulting cut and the bottom of the petal should be burned with a flame so that the material does not crumble, and the folded edges are fastened together, maintaining their shape.
Now all that remains is to design the depth of the petal. To do this, mark 1 cm along the entire length and cut off all excess. New cuts also need to be cauterized with a flame. As a result, when the petal is straightened, you get a beautiful element for a flower with a curl in the center.
All other petals are made in the same way.
When all the details are done, you can start collecting the flower. To do this, 6 need to be glued together using a glue gun.
Now between each petal you should glue one more element.
The result is an openwork flower that will be a wonderful decoration.
