Carnation made of colored paper

Schemes of this crafts, found on the Internet, are so complex and incomprehensible that not only a child, but also an adult will have difficulty understanding them. But using these photos it’s very easy to make a carnation! Don't be intimidated by the large number of photographs - there are many repetitive steps in the craft, and they are illustrated. To work, you will need two square sheets of double-sided paper of different colors. It is better if you take thin paper, because you will have to fold two sheets at the same time.
Sequence of work. Take two sheets and place one on top of the other. Trim the edges and fold in half horizontally.

Unfold, rotate 90 degrees in either direction, and fold in half again.

Expand the square.

Now fold both sheets diagonally.

Unfold again and fold again, but along a different diagonal.

You will get a square with these markings. Now grab the top corner and connect it to the bottom corner, simultaneously connecting the side corners to it, hiding the sides of the resulting triangle inside the workpiece.

You will get a square like this.

Turn it open side up. Now the center of the craft is at the bottom.

Fold the top sheet on the right side of the square in half, starting from the bottom.

Unfold it. There will be a pocket on top (the arrow points to it).

Pull apart the sides of the pocket, making a little bag, and move its fold to the center of the craft.

Iron the edges of the resulting two-color diamond.

Fold the diamond in half, joining the sides together (from right to left).

You will get something like this.

Fold the right side of the craft in half again.

Open it and align the fold in the center of the bag with the middle line of the craft.

Turn the workpiece over to the other side. Fold the right side in half again.

Repeat steps in photos 14-16.

Fold the right side in half one last time.

Repeat steps in photos 19-20.

Connect the right side of the two-color diamond to the left side.

A solid red diamond will open. There are four such diamonds in this blank.

Fold the top red corner down and iron the fold. Bend the yellow corner down too, but inside the craft.

Like this.

Find three more solid diamonds in the workpiece and bend the red and yellow corners in the same way as the first diamond.
You will get a figure like this.

Fold the figure in half. Bend the bottom corner along the dotted line.

Expand the figure. There were two folds inside. Lift the right side of the craft exactly to the folds (the edges of the folds will protrude from the table side of the craft).

And fold the left side of the craft along the dotted line, making an outward fold.

Squeezing the pointed part of the craft on the left with your fingers, open the right part of the craft. The result was a flower with eight double petals.

Now bend each yellow petal inward, trying not to iron the fold.

You will get a flower like this.

To prevent the red petals from folding, bend their tips slightly outward. This maneuver will allow the flower not to close.

You will get a carnation like this.

Cut a strip of green paper and roll it into a tube. Cut out two or three leaves. Attach a stem to the flower.
The flower is ready.
