Hair band “Big Peony”
What could be better than a beautiful hairpin for a girl? But you can make an elastic band to decorate your hair with a large beautiful flower yourself.
To create the “Big Peony” you need to prepare:
- scissors.
- bright yellow satin ribbon.
- needle and spool of thread for handwork.
- green ribbon 2.5 cm wide.
- a gun for working with hot glue.
- scrunchy.
Creating decoration. We prepare three types of blanks from bright yellow tape, their sizes: 5x5 cm - 10 pieces, 5x6 cm - 10 pieces, and 5x7 cm - 15 pieces. On all parts we cut off the edge and round off one short side.
Now, using a lighter, carefully scorch the long sides and the rounded edge. Then we unfold the workpiece with the front side up and gently heat the round edge of the wrong side with a flame so that the tape curls slightly downwards.
Now fold the remaining unfinished edge into a small fold.
We carefully scorch the resulting composition with fire, gluing it together. It turns out to be such a petal.
From all the prepared parts we make such petals; they will differ only in size.
Now let's start assembling the flower.To begin, take 4 small petals and lay them out in a row, slightly overlapping one on top of the other.
Now we thread the needle and sew these petals together, securing them in this position, slightly pulling them at the base.
We make a fastening and cut the thread. Then we twist them into a tube, without tightening too much.
Using a needle and thread, we secure the petals in this state.
Now we gradually sew small petals in a circle, placing the wrong side inward.
After securing all the small details, we move on to the medium-sized petals, sewing them to the emerging flower. Then only the big details remain. The folds on them must be straightened to the wrong side, creating a recess on the front part.
In this form, we sew the petals to the flower, placing them with the front side to the middle.
Then gradually sew on all the remaining petals.
It turns out to be such a big peony. Now we complement it with leaves made from green ribbon.
We close the seams connecting the petals and leaves with a green circle, the diameter of which is 4.5 cm. Then we attach a hair elastic in the center of this part.
And cover the place where the elastic is glued with a thin strip of green tape.
Peony is ready!
