Postcard "Owls"
Do you want to create a unique, bright and fairly easy-to-make postcard with your own hands? Then this master class will help with this. You will not need to use any unusual materials to complete the job. In addition, such a craft can be completed by school-age children without any problems. To make a postcard, you just need to have on hand colored thick paper or cardboard of the desired color, glue, scissors, patience and the desire to create a unique work with your own hands.
So, let's prepare:
1. Thick cardboard A4 green - for the base;
2. Designer paper, green with polka dots (you can use cardboard in green shades with a different pattern, for example, striped);
3. 3-4 types of cardboard or designer paper in green shades - with patterns, plain;
4. Cardboard - brown, white, milky (if not, you can take white), orange;
5. Foam double-sided tape;
6. Black gel pen;
7. Glue, small scissors, a simple pencil, a ruler.
We begin to complete the elements of our postcard. To do this, take brown cardboard and cut out a tree from it, the height of which will be 12 cm, the width at the bottom 11, the width of the tree at the top about 8 cm.
We make “grass” from green cardboard, the width of which will be 13 cm.
We cut out a circle with a diameter of 8 cm from black cardboard or thick paper. Its shape does not have to be perfectly round, since it will be a “hollow” for our owls, so using a compass is not necessary.
From different green shades of paper (with patterns, plain, polka dots) we make leaves, the shape of which can be different. There are 11-13 such elements that need to be completed.
Next we make the details for the owls. From brown cardboard we cut out heads with a diameter of 3.5-4 cm, then two elements for the body, four small elements for the ears.
From white cardboard we cut out eyes with a diameter of less than 1 cm. This is where using scissors for small parts is an advantage.
From orange cardboard we cut out two elements for the beak. We also cut out two parts that will serve as paws, as in the photo.
From milky paper we cut out two elements that will be attached to the owls’ breasts.
We begin to connect the parts and make two owls. To do this, we attach double-sided foam tape to the lower brown part.
Attach the owl's head.
Again we attach double-sided tape to the bottom.
We attach the piece of milk paper to the breasts.
Apply glue to the orange element for the legs.
We attach it to the bottom of each owl.
On the back side of the owls we attach squares of double-sided tape and glue the ears.
The owls are almost ready.
Using a black gel pen we make the eyes.
We take green A4 cardboard to create the base of the card. The dimensions of the finished base should be 14.5x14.5 cm or 15x15 cm. To do this, the dimensions of the sheet that needs to be cut should be 30x15 cm. Then we bend the finished sheet in half to get a square-shaped base.
Cut out a 13x13 cm square from polka dot design paper.
Using double-sided foam tape, attach the green polka dot square to the base.
We attach squares of double-sided tape to the back of the brown wood element.
We attach the tree to the base.
We attach double-sided tape to the grass and glue it to the bottom of the tree.
We attach double-sided tape to the back of the black element for the hollow.
Glue the hollow to the tree.
We coat each owl with glue and glue it at the level of the hollow.
All that remains is to attach the leaves on top of the tree in a chaotic manner.
Everything will depend on the number and size of leaves, as well as on your imagination!
An original, beautiful, colorful DIY postcard is ready!
