Fabric beads
How nice it is to have beautiful and original jewelry that no one else has. And if you make them yourself, then wearing such jewelry is doubly pleasant. I want to share my tutorial on making beads and fabric beads that I made for myself. I hope you like them too.
To do this, we’ll take: some fabric, large and small beads, felt, decorative cord, fastener (sold in sewing stores), padding polyester.
The design and color of the beads can be any. I had tartan fabric and paired it with brown beads, burgundy felt and brown lace.
Fold a rectangular piece of fabric in half or cut it into small rectangles, which we also fold in half. We sew them on the machine on the side opposite to the fold. The result is rectangles with sides of approximately 2 - 2.5 and 3.5 - 4 cm.
Then we stitch one more side and turn it inside out. We stuff the rectangle with padding polyester and sew it up. The result is rollers. 7 such rollers are needed.
We cut out small flowers from felt, 1 cm in diameter. You will need 14 flowers.
Now let's start collecting beads. We thread a red thread or thin fishing line into a needle and collect the beads in the following order: small bead - felt flower - roller - felt flower - small bead - large bead - small bead - felt flower, etc.
The last one should again be a small bead. But before we put the last beads on the fishing line on both sides, we sew on a waxed cord. You will need approximately a cord 80-100 cm long. Cut the cord into two equal parts, and then fold them in half. Sew to the beads at both ends.
Then we put a bead on the cord and tie a knot. After two centimeters, you can fasten another 1-2 beads in the same way.
Felt flowers do not puff up very nicely, so they can be carefully and inconspicuously sewn to the rollers with a simple red thread. Now we attach the clasp. The beads are ready.
Beads made from 6 rollers and 5 large beads are not very long - just below the jugular fossa (the depression between the collarbones). If you want longer beads, then you just need to use more parts. Long beads can also be decorated with a flower or a bow made of matching fabric and felt.
