Sometimes it is difficult to find the switch in the dark. To make this work easier, I propose to build a backlight into it. Acts as a light source Light-emitting diode VD1, connected to the switch terminals through resistor R1. Diode VD2 protects Light-emitting diode from reverse voltage. When the switch contacts are open, the circuit shows voltage flowing through the cold filament of the light bulb. When the switch contacts are closed, the voltage between them is zero, and Light-emitting diode does not light up.

It is advisable to set resistor R1 to at least 0.5 W, since it generates some heat. As LED I used red super bright transparent 5mm Light-emitting diode.

If possible, you can replace the LED with a neon bulb. Removing the diode accordingly.

When installing the backlight of the switch, the lamps will also light up slightly.

Both will flicker under such lighting.

Dmitry, parallel to the light bulbs in the chandelier we place a non-polar film capacitor of 0.47 microfarads 630 Volts, and there are no problems. The capacitor bypasses the light bulbs, and when the switch is off, they will not blink. Tested, works 100%

Pavel Skvortsov, I agree about the neon. Neon bulbs consume 0.2 mA current, and Light-emitting diode 20mA.LEDs unreliable and uneconomical. I installed Soviet neon bulbs TN0.2 into the switches through a 200 kOhm resistor, they have been working for 4 years now. No problems.
