Bow for headband
Today we will look at a rather useful and necessary master class that will teach us how to make beautiful bows for headbands and hairpins from completely unnecessary pieces of fabric. After sewing a suit, dress or sundress, you will definitely have some scraps of fabric left over, so if you try hard, you can use them to make beautiful bows for hairpins or headbands that will complement your outfit. Let's start right now.
To make such bows we will need the following materials:
• Scraps of burgundy satin fabric;
• Burgundy chiffon scraps;
• White satin scraps;
• Silver hologram sequins on thread;
• A small flower in sequins for the center;
• Hologram stones: a large oval and two slightly smaller round stones;
• White threads and two needles, one thin bead, the other regular;
• White elastic band;
• Lighter;
• Thermal gun;
• Scissors;
• Pencil.
So, we see that we will make our flowers from scrap materials that we were even going to throw away.But during the manufacturing process we will see that you shouldn’t throw away even small pieces of fabric, and then you can use them to make beautiful, and most importantly, exclusive jewelry, both for hair and clothes. For example, you can make a beautiful brooch with a flower that will complement your suit. Or a beautiful flower for a hairpin, bow or headband. In general, everything will become clear to us as we work.
We take our different trimmings of white and burgundy colors. Now we need a circle for the template so that we can attach and trace it, and then cut circles from different fabrics. We use a roll of tape as a template. We iron the pieces of fabric well and apply them like tape in the photo and draw a circle.
We cut out four white circles and four burgundy ones from chiffon, as well as two circles from burgundy satin. Now each circle needs to be burned with a lighter.
We place burgundy chiffon circles on top of white satin circles. Thus, one flower will consist of six petals. We also have all sorts of scraps left over; we don’t throw them away either and cut out small semicircles.
We also burn them with a lighter. And we also need to cut out three small circles, so that later we can collect flowers on them; they also need to be burned.
So, first we make one type of flower. We take a semicircle and thread a needle and thread from one edge.
Fold and sew at the bottom.
We get this finished petal of one type of flower. We need to make only ten such petals. Now we make the second petal, the second type of flower. Let's take a circle.
We fold it in half, thread a needle through one side and use small stitches to assemble the entire semicircle.
We tighten it, thread it a few more times and fix this petal.
We collect all the petals of three colors.
Now we glue the petals onto the round blanks using a heat gun. We glue the center stones inside.
Now we sew on the sequins as desired. We glue the entire flower of six petals onto an elastic band and sew it to the required head size.
It turns out to be such a beautiful mini headband with a big beautiful bow.
The remaining two flowers can be glued to hairpins. Ready. Thank you for your attention.
