Keychain in the shape of an animal with embroidery

What materials will be needed for this?
- Textile. Absolutely any, you probably have unnecessary scraps of fabric lying around somewhere. In this master class, denim fabric, which used to be jeans, was used.
- Multi-colored thread remnants. Here these are floss threads.
- Threads and needle for sewing. The needle is also useful for embroidery.
- An elastic band, lace or ribbon - anything that will serve as a loop for which you can attach the keychain to your keys, backpack or something else.
- Filling for the keychain (sintepon, small scraps of fabric, foam rubber, etc.)

Let's begin.
First, let's prepare a template according to which we will cut out the parts from the fabric. It is quite simple and unpretentious, so it is not difficult to repeat.

We cut out blanks from two pieces of fabric folded right side inward.

Let's move on to the next step. We begin to sew the two parts together; it is better to start the seam from the sides of the future animal, since it is much more convenient to turn it inside out and finish sewing on a flat area. We also cut off about 4 cm from the lace for the loop.

The lace must be placed between the pieces of fabric so that the “tails” stick out. Look at the photo. We finish the seam 3-4 cm short of where we started.

Turn it right side out and fill it with padding polyester or any other material of your choice and carefully sew it up.

Using a marker or felt-tip pen, we outline the elements that we will embroider with threads: eyes, nose, paws, various patterns, tail.

Now the fun part - embroidery. We embroider eyes and paws with white thread.

Colored remains are stripes on the sides, both front and back.

You can add “strokes” on top of the stripes with threads of a different color.

We complete the eyes, nose and smile. Add a few more decorative patterns.

And don't forget about the ponytail!

That's all! Nothing overly complicated or expensive, but pleasing to the eye. Experiment, add something of your own and you will get your own individual animal mascot. Success in creative work!
