We sew a case for glasses from felt
If someone in the family wears glasses, he (or she) often forgets where they were put. To avoid such complications, I decided to sew a eyeglass case for my grandmother from bright red felt.
List of what you need:
1.Red hard felt.
2.Two sheets of felt of different colors (for flowers and leaves).
3.Threads of two colors (to match the felt).
4.Needles, scissors.
Patterns of flowers and leaves are quite easy to find on the Internet by typing the required request. Copy the selected pictures and cut out the details. A very simple flower can be carefully drawn by hand.
The cover itself is sewn simply, measurements are taken, a piece of felt is cut twice as wide as needed. The edges should be sewn only after the decorative trim is completed.
You could keep things simple and just glue all the pieces to the cover, but I wanted to add some charm to the piece with some hand-stitched stitching. Therefore, to begin with, I embroidered veins on the leaves.
I sewed red centers to the flowers.
In total I used 2 flowers, 3 berries, 2 simple leaves and 1 triple leaf.It will not be difficult to create such a composition; you just need to evenly distribute the parts over the entire surface of the future eyeglass case. It is advisable just not to place them close to the edges.
The flowers can be left as is, but I like it when the veins on the petals are embroidered.
The composition needs to be fixed, do this last. First you need to finish the finishing stitches. This way the edges of the threads will remain inside the eyeglass case and will not stick out.
Lastly, I embroidered the stems, first marking their outlines on the felt with a pen.
All that remains is to sew the eyeglass case along the edge using a blanket stitch. Carefully tuck the ends of the threads inward and trim. Present made of felt for grandma is ready! The whole job takes several hours; if you sew the seams using a machine, it will be much less.
