Interior candlestick for the New Year
An interior candlestick is an aesthetic element that will add atmosphere to the space; the fire of a candle will help add a note of romance, making the atmosphere more mysterious and exciting. Making a unique and festive candlestick with your own hands is a smart decision; for this you will need materials that you will certainly find at home.
Materials for the master class:
- satin tape;
- lace braid;
- contour on glass;
- PVA glue;
- red and gold gel paste;
- scissors;
- salt.
1. Draw a template of bells on a sheet of paper.
2. On top of the picture is a transparent oilcloth or file.
3. Using a contour on the glass, we outline the boundaries of the bell. If there is no special contour, mix PVA glue and golden gel paste until a homogeneous mass is formed.
4. Combine red gel paste and PVA glue and mix until smooth. It is better to apply to the drawing using a jar with a thin spout, but you can also use a brush.
5. Fill the bell with the resulting mixture, avoiding the formation of gaps.
6. The bell can be decorated with gold dots.
7. Let it dry for at least two hours, or better yet, leave it for a day.After drying, the application is easily removed from the surface, turning into a film.
8. Glue the applique to the jar.
9. Place the red lace braid in PVA glue for 5 minutes.
10. Glue the tape to the neck of the jar.
11. Coat the bottom of the candlestick jar generously with glue and sprinkle salt on top.
12. Decorate the entire surface of the candlestick in the same way.
13. After the glue has completely dried, remove excess salt by running your finger over the surface of the candlestick.
14. Decorate the neck of the candlestick with a satin ribbon bow.
15. The top can be secured with acrylic varnish or PVA glue, but over time the glue gives the surface a slight yellowness.
Our simple to make, but at the same time elegant and festive candlestick is ready, all that remains is to place a candle in it and enjoy the result.
