How to make blinds from wallpaper
How to close windows from the sun? You can buy blinds, or you can make them yourself. Such blinds will be much cheaper and can be made to suit any interior. To make home blinds you will need wallpaper. It is best to use vinyl wallpaper with a width of 50 cm. Such wallpaper will just cover half of the frame.
To make blinds you will need the following elements:
- 1. Vinyl wallpaper.
- 2. Pencil.
- 3. Ruler.
- 4. Knitting needle 3 mm thick.
- 5. Clamps – 2 pcs.
- 6. White knitting threads.
- 7. Velcro – 20 cm.
- 8. Glue gun.
Blind manufacturing process
First you need to measure the window opening, or rather, the glass in the frame. The resulting measurements result in a length of 1 meter 50 cm (the values will differ in each case). We measure a piece of wallpaper 1 m 50 cm long and add another 30 cm for assembly. As a result of the measurements, you should get a paper sheet 1 m 80 cm long. Next, the wrong side of the wallpaper must be marked at 3 cm.
The wallpaper should be drawn along its entire length.
Next, we fold the wallpaper like an accordion along the marked lines.
We retreat 10 cm from the edge. We collect the folds of the wallpaper into a tight accordion and pierce them with a knitting needle.
We thread a thread into the holes formed. It will serve as a tie for the blinds.
We tie the edge of the thread into a knot at the top. It should stick well to the wallpaper.
On the opposite side we repeat the work.
We put fasteners on the threads from below. They will help you assemble the blinds to the desired length.
It is also necessary to attach Velcro to the wallpaper. They will perform a decorative function. To do this, measure out 10 cm pieces of Velcro and glue them to the bottom of the wallpaper. Velcro must be secured so that they are located at the same distance from each other.
We attach the finished blinds to the window. You can attach it in different ways. You can glue the blinds to the window using double-sided tape. Or you can tie the blinds to the blind hinges.
Ready-made wallpaper blinds look beautiful and original. They are easy to drape and adjustable in height. Paper blinds protect the room well from the sun's rays.
