How to increase antenna power
Hello friends! Today I will show you a way to increase the range of your Wi-Fi or 3G whip antenna. This method cannot be called standard or classic; it is a discharge design - crazy hands. Yes, to be honest, I don’t even know how exactly my device works... But it works!
What do you need for homemade?
- The whip antenna itself, possibly with an extension cord.
- A plastic jar for cotton swabs or another.
- Aluminium foil.
- Moment type glue.
- Hot glue gun.
- Yardstick.
- Scissors.
Making a device to increase antenna power
First of all, we measure the diameter of the antenna, with a ruler or, as in my case, with a caliper.
We make a hole in the center of the chopstick jar for this diameter.
I picked out the hole with scissors, but it didn't work out very neatly. I hope it turns out better for you if you suddenly want to repeat my craft.
Then we take aluminum foil and cut a strip the width of the plastic jar.
And insert this segment inside.
In order for the foil to stick, it needs to be placed on glue.
We put the resulting structure on the antenna. See photo.
And so that everything doesn’t fly off, we fix it with hot glue.
Testing and result
Naturally, you shouldn’t expect cosmic results. But if you have reception sites with a very weak signal, then they will now become more accessible. My antenna level stash consists of five divisions; on average, one stick was added to each receiving point. And I think this is an excellent result.
I thought for a long time about why the signal was being amplified. And it seems to me that this happens due to the fact that the foil forms a closed circuit - a vibrator. And due to its large area, it increases the area for signal reception and transmission.
If you have thoughts on this matter, write in the comments, I will be very interested to know your opinion! Thanks to all!
