PVC pipe stool
Design furniture increasingly delights with unusual innovations, expanding the traditional perception of things. So today we present to your attention a homemade stool made from PVC pipes, which any craftsman can make. Go!
Materials:
Tools:
The basis of our stool will be two equal-sized crosspieces, which will serve as the upper and lower drawers. For one crosspiece you will need the following fittings: crosspiece - 1 pc., connecting tee - 4 pcs., a piece of pipe under the drawer - 4 pcs. The length of the pipe is measured experimentally, taking into account the distance for soldering.
The finished cross should be square, and its size should be a few centimeters smaller than the size of the bench on each side.Soldering is done with a plumbing soldering iron, waiting the optimal time for the selected pipe diameter.
The most even cut of PVC pipes is obtained with specialized scissors. However, this tool may not be available to everyone. You can replace it with a hacksaw for metal, trimming the curvature of the cut with a paint knife. It also removes burrs for better soldering.
Advice!
The cost of PVC pipes differs depending on the quality, manufacturer and purpose. For example, pipes for hot water supply are much more expensive than for cold water. For similar products, it is not the type of pipe that matters, but high-quality and reliable soldering.
Using sections of PVC pipes of the same diameter, we assemble both crosspieces together, making the frame of the stool. You can accept the general dimensions that the author of the video sets for his product.
The advantage of PVC pipes as a material is that if the size selection is inaccurate, you can always solder or, conversely, cut the pipe to length. In our case, it is worth considering the presence of plugs on both sides of the frame. They can be soldered through small sections of pipe, thereby adjusting the height of our stool.
The seat of a stool is called a banquette. We make it from a square piece of plywood. The usual size of a stool bench is 30-35cm. we cut it out with a jigsaw or hacksaw, turning the edges to the correct radius. Using sandpaper or a grinder, we process the ribs and sawn edges around the entire perimeter.
We mark four holes for screws for attaching the bench to the frame. We slightly countersink the holes from the front part so that the heads of the screws do not stick out outside. We drill holes with a screwdriver or drill. The banquette is almost ready. For longer-term use, it can be painted or varnished.
We align the stool frame exactly at the centers of the holes. We attach the screws by hand and tighten them with a screwdriver or screwdriver. We check the stability of the stool so that all legs are even.
We have created an excellent example of country furniture, which, thanks to modern materials, will serve faithfully for decades. The cost of components is quite low, and many craftsmen generally have them as reserves in deep stock. We offer you a wonderful way to use them for the benefit of your business and household, because that is essentially what they are needed for. Good luck and good mood to all masters!
