How to quickly clean a circular saw
Often, those craftsmen who use various circular and circular saws are very familiar with the problem of saw blade contamination. This happens for several reasons, such as the presence of resin in the wood, the presence of glue in the material of chipboard, MDF, etc... And as a result, the saw begins to tear the edges, the cut crumbles, the disc “burns” and other similar inconveniences.
All this is due to the fact that the resin or glue is taken to the cutter and envelops it. In some cases, the disc is sent for sharpening, although sometimes it is quite enough to wash it.
Most craftsmen clean their saw blades by soaking them in kerosene or gasoline for a day or more. I propose a method that will be non-toxic, faster, safer, and more affordable, since all the components are available in any kitchen.
Will need
- Disc-shaped or other utensils where you can place the saw blade.
- Toothbrush, naturally second-hand.
- Baking soda.
- Vinegar or acetic acid is even better.
- Some tap water.
How to clean a saw blade
Pour baking soda around the disk.
Place a disk on the resulting circle of soda. The cutters should be immersed in soda.
We also sprinkle the disk on top along the radius of the incisors.
Just drip a little water in a circle to moisten the soda. You don’t need to pour a lot, otherwise the soda will spread over the shape. Let it sit for a while, 5-10 minutes, so that the soda penetrates into hard-to-reach places and slightly softens the glue and resin on the incisors.
After this, we take a toothbrush and begin to clean the disc with quick movements, paying special attention to each tooth.
Then, once the full circle has been completed, we turn the disk over and repeat the procedure for the second side.
Next, fill everything with the bite. The reaction is underway, everything will sizzle for a few minutes - this is normal. The acid does a good job of dissolving resins.
We drain the solution into the sink; it does not need to be disposed of in a special way, this is another advantage of this cleaning method.
Wipe the saw dry with a paper towel. Here's the result:
The disc has regained its original purity and even color. All dirt was gone, no traces remained.
