After this cleaning, the iron will work like new.
If you pour ordinary water into the iron instead of distilled water, scale will appear in it. Gradually it blocks the steam outlets and this function stops working. You can remove scale from the inside of your iron in just 10 minutes with a regular solution of citric acid.
What you will need:
- lemon acid;
- warm water;
- sponge or napkin.
The process of descaling an iron
A tablespoon of citric acid is dissolved in 300 ml of warm water.
The liquid is poured into the iron and it is set to heat.
After reaching operating temperature, you need to wait a few minutes and press the steam release button to blow out the holes.
If the iron is heavily soiled, it may be necessary to use up the entire charge until the iron is working properly. It is better to do cleaning outside or in the bathroom, as there will be a lot of steam.
The acid will soften and partially dissolve the scale. Dirt will come out of the iron from the sole side.
While the scale is hot, it should be wiped off with a napkin.
After this treatment, the iron will work in steam mode like new.
