This is definitely the most compact way to store tomatoes.

From ripe tomatoes you can make an excellent dried seasoning, which will be stored for a year or even more in a glass jar in the kitchen without any loss. Dry tomatoes ground in a coffee grinder can then be diluted with boiling water, add spices and get ketchup or tomato paste. In addition, this powder is suitable for preparing borscht or vegetable stew.

So, to obtain 300 g of tomato powder you will need 2.2 kg of fresh tomatoes.
The total drying time will take approximately 35-40 hours.

Drying tomato

1. Simply cut small tomatoes in half, and large ones into slices with an approximate thickness of 1-1.5 cm.
2. For every kilogram of tomatoes you will need less than a spoonful of coarse salt. Sprinkle tomatoes with it.
3. Stir gently and leave for 10 minutes. set the bowl aside until the juices release. It must be drained and used in the future as needed.
4. Arrange the slices on the tiers of the dryer. Thanks to the salt, the tomatoes have lost a significant part of their moisture, which will reduce drying time.
5. At 70 degrees, tomatoes will spend up to 40 hours in the apparatus and will become very dry and brittle.
6. Now the dried slices can be crushed in a coffee grinder or chopper.
Tomato powder should be placed in dry glass jars with a ground lid. In a living room at normal temperatures, tomato preparations can be stored together with other spices, occupying a negligible space.
