Sandblasting is the best way to remove rust and paint. The main drawback of most of these devices is flying sand. After using them, you need to clean up the scattered abrasive for a long time. In addition, the process involves sawing and requires wearing protective clothing. The proposed design of a closed type sandblasting machine does not have such disadvantages.

automatic washing machine door;
plastic bucket 20 l;
blow gun;
welding glove;
plastic jars – 2 pcs.

The manufacturing process of closed sandblasting

The lugs with the handle are cut off from a large plastic bucket.

Half of the frame from the washing machine door is screwed to its rim using self-tapping screws. It unfolds so that the glass lies convexly outward.

A thin cut is made on the blow gun tube through which sand will flow.

In a plastic jar, 2 holes are visible opposite each other at the bottom. The nose of the gun is inserted into one and clamped. The tube comes out through the second. It must be placed so that the cut is turned upward.

A large hole is cut into the side of the top of the bucket.

Next, take a welder’s glove and insert a plastic can without a bottom into it for rigidity. The glove is then glued into the hole with hot glue.

On the other side, opposite the glove, a small hole is made to insert the nozzle of the blow gun. His tube with a homemade tank is screwed on from the inside.

Clean sifted sand is collected into the sandblaster and the jar is closed with a lid.

To use the machine, the gun is connected to a compressor. The hand is inserted into the glove, and the product for sandblasting is placed in it. Next, the installation is covered with glass. With your second hand, you need to direct a stream of sand onto the workpiece and remove the rust evenly, controlling the process through the window.

As a result, all the sand that falls to the bottom of the bucket can be reused indefinitely, and not a single grain of sand will get into your eyes or skin.
