How to make a tent heater from an oil filter
To warm up in a tent, or warm your hands while ice fishing, you can make a compact portable heater based on an oil filter. It provides a little warmth, but enough to restore mobility to frozen fingers. Its advantage is its lightness and fire safety, since the source of fire in it is completely closed.
Materials:
- oil filter;
- candle tablet;
- mounting corners – 3 pcs.
Heater manufacturing process
The oil filter needs to be disassembled. To do this, you need to cut off its cover in a circle below the rolling.
From the filter you will need the glass itself, a cut bottom, as well as a mesh and a check valve.
Holes are drilled in the check valve for air access. Also, if necessary, the mesh is shortened. In the cut bottom you need to drill 3 holes and screw in the corners that will serve as the legs of the heater.
The filter glass is cleaned of paint. Holes are drilled in the top to allow hot air to escape. It should then be fired to remove any remaining oil and paint.
To use the heater, you need to install a check valve on the bottom. A candle is placed and lit on it.
Then it is closed with a net and then everything is covered with a glass.
10 minutes after ignition, the heater will be so hot that you won’t be able to touch it without gloves.
