Advent wreath
A traditional symbol such as an Advent wreath will help create a festive mood and decorate your apartment on the eve of Christmas. Usually it is made from fir branches and decorated with satin ribbon bows and candles, but you can create your own Advent wreath using improvised materials.
First of all, you need to make a base for the future wreath: to make it you will need several old newspapers, paper napkins, and tape.
Two thick newspapers should be rolled into tubes and connected to each other with tape - this will be the frame of the Advent wreath.
Then the newspapers need to be covered with paper napkins (soft paper can also be used for these purposes) to give the base a more neat appearance and to avoid the newspaper pages from unwinding.
So, the frame is ready and you can start turning it into a magical wreath. To do this, first of all, you need to wrap the base with a green organza ribbon - this will help to avoid the light frame of the finished wreath from showing through.
Then tinsel is wound over the organza: to create a wreath, it is best to take green, with the effect of snow powder, but pure green will also work.
For my medium-sized wreath, one piece was not enough, so next to the first strip of tinsel I had to wind a second one, while observing the direction of movement.
You can decorate the finished wreath with satin bows, Christmas tree beads or balls, elegant garlands or pine cones - the choice of design depends only on your imagination. My wreath is decorated with several traditional Christmas bows and a small bell.
In the center of my wreath, according to tradition, Advent candles were placed: three purple and one pink. On the first Sunday of Advent, one first candle is lit, on the second two, and so on - this symbolizes the increase in joyful mood.
Making an Advent wreath with your own hands is very simple, and the festive atmosphere and warmth it gives will be appreciated by both family and guests at home.
