Satin ribbon wreath
A wreath made of satin ribbons has always been and is considered an essential element of Ukrainian folk costume. It consists of wildflowers such as daisies, periwinkles, cornflowers, and poppies. I propose to make them from satin ribbons and assemble them into a wreath.
What needs to be prepared?
- headband;
- red ribbon 5 cm wide;
- black thread;
- green ribbon (2.5 cm);
- felt mugs;
- blue ribbon (2.5 cm);
- stamens blue, white;
- white tape 6 mm;
- yellow ribbon 1 cm;
- viburnum in sugar;
- blue ribbon 2.5 cm;
- green tape 0.6, 2.5 cm, 4 cm;
- stamens.
Poppy
It is a luxurious bright red flower with large leaves and a box-shaped center. To make it, you need to cut the tape into squares with a side length of 5 cm.
Next, we cut out the petals with a round edge by eye. We process each petal over the flame and stretch it in different directions to create waves.
In total you need to make 8-10 petals. Take a felt circle and glue all the petals in a circle.
To make the middle, you need to take a little padding polyester or cotton wool, roll it into a ball and wrap it with a piece of green ribbon.Using a needle and thick black thread, we wrap the middle.
Next, we wind the thread on two fingers, tie it in the middle, and then cut the edges, comb them and glue them under the box.
This design needs to be glued to the center of the poppy.
We make several flowers, I have 3 of them. Cornflower For cornflower you need to cut the blue ribbon into 4 cm pieces.
Using a soldering iron, we make teeth on one edge of the tape. Next, use scissors to give the opposite edge the appearance of a petal.
We collect 20 petals on a thread and tighten them. Insert a bunch of blue stamens into the center. Glue a blue or black felt circle to the back of the flower.
Chamomile
For chamomile, cut a narrow ribbon 6 mm wide into 3.5 cm pieces.
One edge of the petal must be cut so that it is sharp and secured over the fire. Fold the second edge in half lengthwise and also secure it over the fire.
To make the middle, we sew a 1 cm wide ribbon and then tighten it to form an “accordion”. We roll it into a spiral and secure it with glue or a needle and thread.
We glue the petals on the base in a circle, their number is approximately 50 pieces, and glue the middle into the center.
Periwinkle For periwinkle you need to make round petals kanzashi from blue ribbon. After this, we pinch the edges of the petal with tweezers and burn it over a candle so that the petals become angular.
We glue 5 petals together and glue the stamens to the center. Glue 3 flowers together from the back side. Leaves You need to make leaves from various ribbons of green shades. To do this, fold an 8 cm piece of tape in half and cut it with a soldering iron or cut it with scissors and secure the cut over the fire.
Assembling the wreath Take the rim and wrap it with green ribbon.
Next, glue the leaves onto the surface, making a bed for the flowers.
After this, we distribute the flowers on the surface. I glued a poppy in the middle, cornflowers and daisies were attached between the poppies, and periwinkle flowers were added.
Also, if desired, viburnum can be added to the wreath - for me these are ready-made berries in sugar.
The wreath is ready.
