Powerful homemade water pump from an old blender

To pump water, for example, from a swimming pool or a small garden pond, a powerful pump is required. If you have an old blender, it can be made with a drive from it. It is not difficult and does not take long, so homemade is more than advisable.

Materials:

tabletop blender;
PVC plug 63 mm;
PVC adapter 63x32 mm;
tin;
PVC pipes 63, 32, 20 mm;
glue for PVC pipes.

Pump manufacturing process

The container of the blender is removed. It is necessary to dismantle its rod with the bushing, the lower platform of the bowl, as well as the mating part for hooking to the motor shaft.

Next you need to shorten the length of the plug and the sewer pipe adapter. Before this, a hole is drilled in the plug for the rod and bushing. The bottom platform of the container is prepared in the same way.

A sleeve is glued into the plug. It is then screwed to the pad and the joint is sealed with glue.

A disk with a diameter of 50 mm for the impeller is cut out of tin. Blades in the form of bent strips made of the same material are soldered to it. In order for the solder to stick, the parts need to be sanded.

A rod with a mating part of the engine shaft hook is inserted into the previously glued bushing.On the reverse side, a homemade impeller is put on from the inside for fitting.

Opposite it, on the side of the plug, you need to cut in a fitting for pouring water. To do this, it is drilled and a piece of pipe with a diameter of 20 mm, previously cut at an acute angle, is glued into the hole.

After this, the rod with the hook and the impeller is clamped. A ring made from a 63 mm tube is inserted into the plug. It is used to install an adapter into which a 32 mm pipe will fit. All parts are assembled using glue.

After this, the pump body is inserted into the blender instead of the container. A hose is connected to the 32 mm pipe, which must be lowered into the water. After turning on, the pump itself will draw water into the body and supply it under pressure through a 20 mm side tube.
