Wings for children's costume
If your little princess is crazy about fairy and butterfly outfits, then you definitely can’t do without wings. And it’s not at all necessary to scour the stores in pursuit of this detail of a children’s costume. You can easily make them yourself.
To create the wings, we will need the following materials: wire, thread, needle, universal glue or superglue gel, scissors, elastic band, tape and material for the wings (mesh, tulle, tulle, nylon - we use any of your choice).
1. We make the base for the wings from wire. It is better to make two wings at once from one piece of wire, then connecting the entire structure will be much easier.
2. When the wings are formed, we give them shape by bending the wire in the places we need. To make both wings the same, we put the blanks together, and only then we begin to bend the wire.
3. We connect the wings into a single whole. We fasten the two halves with tape and, for greater reliability of the final structure, apply glue to the fastening site and wrap it with strong threads.
4. Let's start decorating our wings.Apply glue to the wire frame of the wing and distribute it evenly over the entire surface. Then we take a piece of fabric and glue it to the wing, wrapping it on both sides (the wire frame should be inside the fabric). We stretch the fabric well so that it does not sag later.
5. When the glue dries, trim off the excess fabric with scissors.
6. In this way, we decorate all four wings one by one.
7. Now you need to decorate the place where the wings are fastened. To do this, you can use pieces of tulle or remnants of mesh, ribbon, or a ready-made flower.
8. All that remains is to sew on the elastic bands that will hold our wings on, having previously measured the required length.
9. Now our wings are completely ready to delight their little owner.
