DIY compact hot air gun
For many jobs, a full-size heat gun is too big. For delicate tasks, you can use a homemade hair dryer with a thin nozzle. They are convenient for setting heat-shrinkable tubing, spot heating plastic, drying two-component glue, etc. This device is made simply and quickly.
Materials for making a hot air gun:
- heating element for soldering iron 80 W - http://alii.pub/5nsc3l
- mobile phone charger - http://alii.pub/5nsc6w
- mini fan 5V - http://alii.pub/5nscae
- switch - http://alii.pub/5mk6b7
- aluminum tube 20 mm;
- plastic tube 40 mm;
- wire with plug;
- plywood 12 mm.
Hot air gun manufacturing process
An adapter is drilled out of plywood using a core drill to connect a tube with a diameter of 20 mm to 40 mm. It is pressed into a large plastic pipe 10-15 cm long.
A hole is drilled in the side of the plastic pipe to install the switch.
You also need to prepare an aluminum tube 20 mm long, 10 cm long. You need to screw a heating element from a soldering iron into it.
Next, you need to solder the wires from the fan to the board removed from the phone charger unit.Wires are soldered to its input to supply power.
The aluminum tube is glued into the plastic tube using two-component heat-resistant glue through an adapter.
After it dries, you should solder the components of the hair dryer in the body according to the proposed scheme.
The power supply for the fan is hidden directly in the hair dryer body.
The cooler itself is glued with hot glue from the end.
Thus, when you press a button, 220 V power will be supplied to the heating element, and 5 V through the unit to the fan.
As a result, hot air will come out of the nozzle of a homemade hair dryer.
