How to make a light grill out of an old refrigerator grill
When going on a picnic or fishing, you have to come up with a stand for skewers on the spot or drag a large barbecue along with you. An alternative to this would be a homemade trellis with legs. It will allow you to fry meat and vegetables over high heat, and even place a frying pan and a pot. The peculiarity of this design is simplicity, compactness and lightness. Even hikers and cyclists can take this grill with them.
Materials:
- old refrigerator grille;
- rod or fittings 6-8 mm;
- nuts M6-M8 – 4 pcs.
The process of making a barbecue from a grate
The device is made from a regular refrigerator grill.
It needs to be cleaned of rust and paint residues.
Then 4 rods of 45 cm each are cut to make the legs.
If the length of the grating is longer, then they can be made longer, which will be convenient when installing the grating in the sand, for example, on the beach.
Nuts are welded to the edges of the rods.
It is important that the welding does not get inside, onto their threads. The second end of the rods is sharpened.
The lattice frame is cut on sides parallel to the transverse rods.This is necessary to get legs. Then the edges of the cuts are welded.
To use the grate, you need to stick its legs into the ground to the required depth. After this, a fire is lit under it, and after it burns out, food is laid out on it. It is also useful as a stand for a frying pan or pot.
