How to restore the operation of the remote control buttons without the “collective farm”
To restore a home control panel, say, for a TV, home craftsmen resort to non-standard and unprofessional solutions: they glue foil to the back of the buttons, like here. Or they try to restore the conductive layer themselves in a different way.
All these methods certainly work, but they are not as durable and extremely inconvenient.
There is a simple method to repair the remote control, without the “collective farm”, with a special conductive glue, which, in fact, is intended for these purposes. This is an inexpensive and completely accessible “pleasure”.
What you will need
- Napkin.

We restore the functionality of the remote control buttons with our own hands
The first step is to disassemble the remote control. We unscrew all the screws, if they are provided in the design. In most cases, the entire body is held together only by latches.
Next, using a sharp and flat tool, carefully unclip all the latches around the perimeter. We remove the board.
Using a napkin soaked in an alcohol-containing liquid, wipe the contact pads of the buttons on the board.
If it is very dirty, you can use a toothbrush.
We also wipe all the buttons on the back side with alcohol. Apply conductive glue to non-working buttons.
We wait for it to dry completely and assemble the remote control in the reverse order.
That's it. Everything is ready.
This is a reliable way to restore the operation of devices in a repair shop, so there is no doubt about it.
