The most affordable do-it-yourself vibrating table made from a door, tires and a washing machine engine
When producing paving slabs or other concrete products, good compaction of the mortar is very important. It is impossible without the use of a vibrating table. This necessary equipment is actually very simple, so it’s easy to do it yourself with minimal investment.
Materials:
- Old car tires – 4 pcs.;
- wooden board or sheet metal;
- boards;
- electric motor with pulley. An electric motor from a washing machine is perfect.
- wood screws;
- switch;
- wire with plug.
Vibrating table manufacturing process
You need to make the base of the table from two boards, laying them parallel. An electric motor with an eccentric is screwed onto them in the center. The latter is a pulley with a groove on one side for imbalance. Opposite it, a bolt with a weighting agent is screwed to it, in this case a pipe clamp. Thus, the rotation of the engine will be accompanied by strong rattling.
Two tires are placed on the boards on each side of the engine. They are tightened together with self-tapping screws screwed through the adjacent sidewalls.These racks are also attached to the boards with self-tapping screws.
Then the table is turned over and placed on tires that will listen to its legs. Now the tabletop is laid on the plank base. This could be an old door, wood panel or sheet metal. The tabletop is screwed to the boards.
When the engine is turned on, the tabletop will vibrate. For convenience, the engine can be started via a switch.
It also doesn’t hurt to screw the sides to the tabletop so that the forms with concrete don’t fall from vibration.
