Bright rug made from old towels
The idea of a rug or rug made with your own hands is very interesting and popular. If the weather outside does not spoil us with bright sun, warmth and rainbows, then creating a soft, bright and very positive rug is the solution to all issues.
To bring my creative idea to life, I needed one old towel, two small, well-worn T-shirts, and to add some bright colors to my creation, I even used a pair of soft, warm socks. Of course, if you are inspired by my example, you can use any old things that you choose in terms of color, texture and density.
First you need to prepare the shreds, cut them into long strips and sew them in half, folding the edges. I twisted all the resulting strips of yellow towel in the shape of a figure eight and secured them with sewing needles. I also cut the rest of the things, sewed strips from them and rolled them into rounds. When my blanks were ready, I began to think through the design of my product, shape and pattern.
I decided that my small rug would be good for the bathroom and made it round. For edging, i.e. For the outer edges, I used all yellow blanks, since there were a lot of them. I sewed them together and firmly secured the layers and folds with threads. The result was a strong and dense circle.
Then I laid out all the resulting round pieces in a drawing, placing them all in the inside of my rug. I started sewing the round pieces together. In general, you can sew them very tightly, holding them to each other, I, in turn, decided to leave imaginary voids, which gave a wonderful decorative effect.
After all the careful stitching of the round pieces together, I ended up with a round rug that was very dense and bright. I advise you to secure it with more frequent stitches at the bottom and top, this way your carpet will stick better, in this case, it can even be washed in a washing machine.
The rug looks great in the bathroom in front of the shower, in front of the vanity, or in front of the toilet itself.
I can also recommend making the same rug from felt or felt. Such a pleasure, of course, costs a lot of money, so you can sacrifice an old Soviet felt blanket, cut it into even, long strips and glue them together, depending on your imagination and design abilities.
Do you have beauty and a desire for handicrafts in your soul? Take time, be patient, perseverance, tape, glue, threads and needles - and such a rug will appear in your room! I wish you success and the implementation of all your plans!
