11 useful tips for your home and workshop

Few people have a full set of necessary tools and special devices to perform absolutely any work. You have to use your natural ingenuity and replace many things with something simpler. This collection contains 11 such solutions that work great.

1. Bottle sieve

Take a PET bottle and make a perforation in its wall with a thin drill. Cut a window on the back side.

After this, sand or other bulk material can be sifted through an improvised sieve.

2. Hand cleaning paste

You can wash off fuel oil from your hands using a homemade cleaning paste. To make it, mix sand with liquid soap.

3. Painting stands

Cut the slats into small squares. Then screw a screw into each of them.

Now we turn them over and place the part to be painted on the ends of the screws.

4. Storing the aerosol lubricant tube

To prevent the lubricant tube from constantly getting lost, tape a nail to the can. The tube is pulled tightly over it and does not fall off.

5. Marking thicknesser from a carpenter's ruler

If you place a pencil on the edge of a carpenter's ruler using a stationery clip, you will get a marking thicknesser. Moreover, in terms of functionality, it is almost no different from a specialized tool.

6. Door hinge with auto closer

Knock the pin out of the door hinge. Then cut off the center eye on its flap.

After this, assemble a loop by placing a spring from a clothespin in the center.

7. Connecting a vacuum cleaner to a jigsaw

If the vacuum cleaner hose does not fit in diameter with the sawdust pipe, they can be connected with reinforced tape. And when your jigsaw does not have such a pipe at all, then between its body and the sole you can put a vacuum cleaner attachment for hard-to-reach places. Then the flexible hose is also connected to it with tape.

8. Gluing wooden parts at 45 degrees without a clamp

If you don’t have a clamp, then you can secure the parts to be glued with a 45-degree cut using tape.

We glue it along the outer corner and bend it.

9. Soft pads on the vice

Foam pipe insulation cut lengthwise can be used as soft pads on the jaws of a vice. With them you will not jam the thread of the compressed part, and you will not spoil the wooden workpieces.

10. Device for squeezing tubes

Cut the thin metal pipe lengthwise. Then clamp it into the screwdriver chuck. Now insert the tube into the cut and turn on the rotation. As a result, you can squeeze it out very efficiently, squeezing out all the contents.

11. Fixing nails with tape

Take masking tape and wrap it around the roll, sticky side facing out. This will allow the nails to be secured to it.

This way it will be convenient to hammer them in, and at exactly the right angle.

At least one “adviser” would offer something new and truly practical here.
