2 in 1 oven from an old gas cylinder with oven and stove for cooking
Residents of private houses and summer residents often cook in the summer on an outdoor wood-burning stove, which allows them to recycle branches from garden pruning. It is convenient to cook jam and other winter preparations. If you don’t already have a stove like this, then make one from a gas cylinder. The proposed stove design is also useful in that it also works as an oven.
Materials:
- Gas cylinder 27 l;
- steel pipe 125 mm;
- welded door hinges – 4 pcs.;
- door latches – 2 pcs.;
- sheet steel 4 mm;
- rod 6 mm.
The process of making a stove from a cylinder
A 27 liter cylinder is best suited for such a stove. We unscrew its shut-off valves and pour water to the very top.
After this, you can cut off its handle.

Next, you should clean the paint from the can.
Now we take a thick-walled steel pipe 125 mm and circle it at the top of the cylinder. Then we cut a hole along this contour.
After this, we mark two large doors on the cylinder.We cut them out, but not completely. We make the distance between the doors 125 mm.
While they are holding, we weld the door hinges and latches.
After this you can cut the corners. This way the doors will open perfectly without distortion.
At the bottom of the wall, between the doors, a 125x125 mm window is cut out.
Now we weld a profile pipe with a cross section of 125x125 mm from sheet steel. We cut it from the end to fit at right angles with the round pipe.
We insert the round pipe into the cylinder.
We join it from the side to the profile pipe. At the junction we outline the outline and cut out the window.
Then we weld them. You also need to weld the pipes to the walls of the cylinder.

The round pipe is welded with a continuous seam to the cylinder at the top.
Then we weld the previously cut handles back.
We weld hangers from a curved rod onto the top of the stove doors.
We turn the cylinder over and cut a hole in its bottom for a vertical pipe placed inside.
After this, the oven is painted with heat-resistant paint.
Now you can put wood in it and light the fire.
Pots and pans of almost any size are installed on top of the stove. At the same time, by opening the doors, we gain access to the oven, in which it is convenient to bake meat on skewers.
It is easy to remove ashes from the stove after use by simply pushing them forward into a vertical pipe through which they will fall down.
