How to make a metal cutting tool from old valves
This tool will clearly not be superfluous in a home workshop, since with its help you can quickly and easily cut sheet metal, both in a straight line and along a curved path. It can be assembled from two poppet valves that have served their purpose. The costs of its production will be minimal, and any adult with basic welding skills can handle the work.

Process of making sheet metal cutting tool from poppet valves
Using two magnetic clamps, we install a square metal blank vertically closer to one corner of a thick square sheet and weld it there.We apply a similar blank to the upper end of the first blank, align the three sides and orient the upper blank along the edge of the thick sheet. We perform welding in this position.
We place one split sleeve transversely to the free end of the square workpiece and secure it by welding. We insert the stem of the poppet valve into the bushing from the inside.

We place the valve plate at some distance from the bushing and, guided by it, install the third workpiece vertically. Then we weld it to a thick sheet.
We put a compression spring and a second split bushing on the stem of the second poppet valve. We compress the spring halfway with the help of a bushing, press it in this position to the outer side of the workpiece so that the plates overlap when they touch in the lower diametrical position. We weld the bushing to the workpiece.
We weld a curved drive handle to the free end of the upper valve rod. We apply continuous welding seams in the tack areas to give the fixture strength and rigidity.
We weld the bottom of a thick square sheet to a solid and immovable base, and our sheet metal cutting tool is ready to go. To do this, we press the edge of the sheet to the point of contact of the valve plates and rotate the drive handle towards the supply of the material being cut.
The cut is possible both along straight and curved trajectories.
