Sew tulle
Tulle is an integral part of the interior, which allows you to create coziness and comfort in every home. In addition to the fact that tulle decorates the window, it also protects it from prying prying eyes. Nowadays there is a huge variety of tulle, for every taste and price. But you can get creative and sew tulle with your own hands, this will create even greater comfort and warmth.
Creative tulle of our own making.
Sewing tulle is not at all difficult; all you need is a few sewing skills and the necessary materials.
Before you start sewing tulle, you need to decide on the model and choose a color scheme so that the tulle fits into the interior. And then I use these instructions, step by step, to sew.
There are quite a lot of sewing methods, you can choose any one that is more convenient for you.
-You need to calculate the length. In the example, the tulle will be pleated. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the width of the window and take tulle 2 times wider.
-cut a strip of tulle 25-30 cm wide (if there are curtains, you can use fabric to match the curtains), connect the strip to the top edge of the tulle and sew along its entire width.
-cut edges, fold and stitch. Fold the top edge 2 cm and stitch it, this will hide the errors. You can also trim the edges with bias tape, choosing according to the color scheme. If there is an overlog, then simply process the slices.
-Next you need to baste the curtain tape to the wrong side. This will allow you to make folds in the future. Then check if everything is smooth and not pulled together anywhere, then sew the tape.
-Then the tulle needs to be decorated. To do this, you can cut a strip about 6-8 cm wide. Fold it in half with the right side inward and stitch it, then turn it inside out.
Folds on the strip can be made immediately by sewing the strip onto the tulle. Or you can first sew folds on the strip and then sew it on.
But if you don’t really want to waste time, then you can buy a ribbon and simply sew it onto the tulle.
-the strip at the bottom can also be decorated with a ribbon. This can be done either straight or with shuttlecocks. It will look like this:
-After this, turn the tulle towards you with the wrong side (the one where the curtain tape is sewn), take the edges of the threads and pull until you get the desired width (according to the width of the window), straighten the folds. Tie the threads so as not to constantly adjust them, and cut off the excess length of the thread.
That's all: beautiful tulle is ready, without wasting time and huge amounts of money.
Good luck in your endeavors, a little desire and everything will work out.
