Piñata
When organizing a children's birthday party, try the Mexican fun Piñata. Piñata is usually a fairly large form of papier mache hollow inside. It can be either a complex figure: a bird, a fish, the sun, etc., or a simple geometric one, decorated with bright stickers. Fill the piñata with small gifts, surprises or candies.
2 ways to open a piñata:
1. Hitting with a stick.
2. Ribbons, only one of which opens the toy.
The line for hitting or pulling the ribbon can be set up according to different principles. For example, voice riddles, and give the person who guessed it the opportunity to open the piñata. Usually it is not possible to open it the first time, so each attempt irritates the guests more and more. And when the next effort ends in success and the contents spill out, there is no end to the joy! The whole process is accompanied by cheerful music. You can play piñata both at home and in the yard. It is either installed or hung on a tree.
Of course, nowadays you can buy a piñata, but there is an easy way to make one yourself. In this case, you can make a toy that you like and decorate it to your taste.Although the original piñata is made from papier-mâché, the labor-intensive method can be replaced with a simpler one, using an ordinary cardboard box as a basis. Since the boxes are mostly in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, they can be decorated in the form of: a car, a treasure chest, candy, etc. The version of the piñata we offer opens by pulling the ribbons.
The Bird of Happiness.
Required accessories:
1. Box.
The width and height should be approximately half the length.
2. Corrugated paper: two colors. Any of your choice.
3. A white sheet of paper (for the eyes).
4. Yellow/red/orange piece of paper (for the beak).
Focus on your chosen primary color.
5. Ribbons or braid.
6. PVA glue (white).
7. Scissors and knife.
8. Black felt-tip pen.
9. Adhesive packing tape.
Basic preparation of a piñata.
1. Seal the box with tape on all sides.
2. Cut a door in the narrow long side of the box for filling with gifts.
3. Attach at least 9 ribbons to the inside of the box above the cut door.
4. Attach the main opening strip to the lower inner surface of the door.
5. Take all the ribbons out and close the door.
6. The basic structure is ready.
Decor.
1. Cut the corrugated paper into narrow strips.
2. Alternating colors, glue the box in a circle starting from the bottom of the structure.
3. Decorate the door separately, but in the same way.
Head.
To get a beautiful bird's head, place any crumpled paper on the top end of the box.
Cover it with corrugated paper on top, which only needs to be secured in front and behind.
Beak.
Attach the beak to the end part above the prepared door.You can do it in various ways
Wings and tail.
Cut strips of corrugated paper wider than for the feather trim. Bring one side together by straightening the other and cutting slightly.
Attach the wings to the sides and the tail to the back.
Eyes.
Draw eyes on a white sheet of paper with a black felt-tip pen. To make them exactly the same, you can print them on a printer, or circle an object of suitable shape and size. Please note that the eyes should be proportional to the size of the head.
Filling.
Pull the ribbons you carefully prepared to open the door and fill the piñata with surprises. After that, close the door, leaving all the ribbons outside.
The bird of happiness is ready!
