Aromatic sachets - bags with herbs
Aromatic sachets are very popular among modern housewives. These wonderful bags exude a wonderful smell. They are traditionally placed in closets next to clothes, in chests of drawers with linens, on a bedside table or at the head of a bed. Manufacturers offer a huge selection of bags with various aromatic mixtures. But, you see, it’s much more pleasant to enjoy the fruits of your labors and calmer when you know what exactly is included in such a bag. It’s also no secret that our land gives us a huge bouquet of herbs, which is so pleasant to collect in the warm company of friends or loved ones.
So, let's transgress.
We will need:
- paper;
- red fabric for the bag;
- white lace for decoration;
- braid for tying the bag
- white threads;
- needle, pins;
- scissors;
- sewing machine;
- herbs;
- a small deep plate.
Robot stages:
1. On paper, draw a pattern for the future bag (be sure to allow seam allowances - approximately 1 cm).
2. Using a pattern, cut out two identical pieces from red fabric. It is better to choose natural fabric, in this case cotton was chosen.
3.Two pieces are cut out of white lace according to the pattern, which must completely match the size of the red fabric.
4. Fold and baste the outer edge of the future bag. If necessary, also fold the edges of the lace. I didn’t have such a need, since I came across ready-made lace about 8 cm wide and several meters long. All I had to do was cut the length I needed, and the outer edge was already beautifully finished.
5. Use a sewing machine to stitch the outer edge of the bag.
6. Use pins to attach the lace to the fabric. This way the lace will be in the right place in the end and won’t move anywhere.
Machine stitch along the hem line of the top edge of the red fabric.
7. Connect the fabric so that the lace is inside. We need a kind of sandwich: red fabric, lace, lace, red fabric. And with a slight indentation from the edge, stitch along the perimeter. Turn the bag right side out.
8. Choose the herbs that you like best. Make a mixture of herbs or use just one type. Aromatic herbs must be dried. It is advisable to chop the herbs; leaves, stems and flowers should not exceed 1 cm in size. We made two bags and, accordingly, chose two different fillers. The first bag used dried rosemary flowers and green basil leaves, the second – green basil and fragrant lavender. Information about the effects of various herbs on humans will help you choose a mixture of herbs for yourself, which can be found in great abundance on the Internet or in books about medicinal herbs.
9. Pour the selected herbs into a deep plate and mix thoroughly. Inhale the aroma of herbs! Close your eyes, give freedom to your imagination and imagination!
10. Tie the bag with braid and voila. All is ready!
