Funny sheep
According to the Chinese calendar, the symbol of the coming year is a sheep. The animal is beautiful, good-natured and fluffy. They say that in order for the coming year to be good and fun, happy and generous, you need to have a figurine of the symbol of the year at home. And for this, it is absolutely not necessary to run to the store in search and spend a lot of money on a Chinese trinket of dubious quality. It’s better to make a funny sheep yourself from scrap materials. You can also present such a beautiful craft to your friends, colleagues or family. Soulful present, made with your own hands, will be an ideal souvenir for your children’s school friends and comrades. What do you need to prepare for work?
Take:
- white cardboard (for two sheep you need half an A4 sheet);
- a pack of white napkins (20 pieces);
- PVA glue;
- scissors;
- a simple pencil;
- black knitting threads;
- hook;
- magnets.
Cut two ovals of the same size from white cardboard. They should be no more than 8 cm in height.
Start rolling small balls (about 5 mm) from a white paper napkin. It's easy enough to do. Tear off a small piece of the napkin and roll it into a ball with your fingers.
They need to be made so much that they can completely fill the oval workpiece. You need approximately 5 napkins.
Apply glue to the oval (generally) and start gluing small circles from a napkin. They should fit tightly both to the surface and to each other.
Once the entire oval blank is filled (make sure there are no empty spaces on the cardboard), press the balls with your hands and let the glue dry.
At this time, take black crochet threads and a hook. You need to knit four chains (15 loops each). Don't forget to trim any loose threads.
Then crochet the oval using a single crochet pattern. Approximately 4 cm in size.
And glue napkin balls (10 mm in size) to one end of all the chains.
Turn the workpiece with napkin balls over to the reverse side and lay out chains with paper balls at the ends. Place two on top - these will be “handles”, and the other two - on the bottom, you will get “legs”.
Lubricate the free oval with a generous layer of glue and apply it to the first workpiece. Weigh the work down with something heavy and leave it to dry.
You can also glue a magnet on the back side, then your craft can easily “make friends” with the refrigerator door. Just choose a magnet so that it can support the craft. Too small will slide off.
Now you need to glue the sheep's head to the top of the oval. PVA glue will do the job perfectly. Make sure it looks proportional to your body.
Make eyes from napkins, beads or other similar materials. The mouth is made of a string or a red napkin.
Using the same principle, make a second sheep. This will be a cheerful couple - a boy and a girl. Make her a small bow from a thread, and make him a tie.Although, of course, you can decorate the figures at your discretion.
As soon as everything dries and sticks together well, the symbolic figures of the coming year can be placed on the refrigerator and wait for the gala night.
