Simple ceiling light
This is a very easy-to-make ceiling lamp that each of you can make with your own hands without much difficulty. It is indistinguishable from a store-bought one, and manufacturing costs are minimal and will allow you to save a considerable amount, considering how much ceiling lamps cost now. And if you make more than one, two or three of these, it will be a significant increase in your budget.
The first thing you need to do is decide on the size, taking into account the number of lamps you have. You can also choose a shape: square or rectangle. I made a rectangular lamp.
After the choice is made, carefully cut 8 bars. Let's drill two holes in each and try to assemble the lamp frame. If everything suits you, use sandpaper or a machine to process the surface of the wooden blocks: smooth out the corners, make the wood smooth, remove all burrs.
Then we coat our blanks with wood-colored varnish. Or first we apply 1-2 layers of stain, depending on the shade, and then cover it with regular wood varnish.
We cut the plexiglass to the size of the central rectangle. Carefully brighten the mounting holes. Let's try it on the frame. If everything is fine, we process all the glass on both sides with sandpaper. We remove sharp corners and make the glass matte.
This plexiglass, treated with sandpaper, perfectly diffuses the light flux. The light in the room where the lamp will hang will be even and soft.
Finally, we fasten the lamp with screws, but do not attach the plexiglass yet. We screw the lamp sockets and ceiling mounts onto the self-tapping screws.
We drill holes in the ceiling for dowel-nails. We hang a lamp. We connect the wires, screw in the lamps. We put on plexiglass and secure it with decorative nuts. It turns out that there is a distance between the wooden frame and the plexiglass.
That's all. The creative and original lamp is ready. I am sure that such a ceiling lamp is not only not inferior to purchased ones, but in appearance it is even superior to most models.
There is also an option to apply a design, such as a Chinese character, to the plexiglass on the inside. And then your luminary will immediately change style in a more eastern direction. But I stopped there. I prefer the more classic version.
What do you need to make a lamp?
- - Rectangular slats.
- - 4 long bolts with nuts (Can be cut with a hacksaw).
- - 4 corners with plastic dowel-nails for fastening to the ceiling.
- - Plexiglas.
- - 2 sockets with doom bulbs. You can take everything in a single copy, or vice versa, all 4, depending on how much light you need.
