Fluffy rainbow hair decorations
I suggest making bright hair clips or elastic bands to decorate your hair. By imagining with the colors of the ribbons, you can make decorations for various outfits, as well as for school and kindergarten. They are based on loops made of narrow satin ribbon. The decoration is much easier to make than decorations where you first need to form the petals - kanzashi, and then do the assembly. To make such fluffies, you can also use grosgrain ribbons or organza ribbons. The work is a little painstaking and takes time, but the result is quite original products.
To make jewelry you will need:
- satin ribbons 6 mm wide, 7 colors of the rainbow, 1 m each;
- felt for the base;
- candle;
- scissors;
- glue gun.
It is necessary to make a base from felt; in this case, cut a circle with a diameter of 3 cm.
Making loops
Cut all ribbons into pieces 5.5 cm long. The length of the segments can be changed as desired, for example, 6 cm or 6.5 cm.
Take one piece of tape and fold its ends together to form a loop from the front side of the tape and secure the cut with a candle flame or lighter.
Do this with all pieces of tape. Exactly how many loops are needed depends on how tightly they will be glued. My quantity is approximately 60 pieces per decoration.
Assembling the decoration.
Glue the loops along the edge of the circle in order of the colors of the rainbow. This took me 10 stitches.
Now gradually fill the base with loops, moving towards the middle, alternating colors and placing them in a checkerboard pattern.
Do this until there is a free circle with a diameter of about 5 mm left in the center.
To fill the middle, take 3 loops, glue them together and roll them into a tube.
Glue another 4 loops in a circle around the bundle of 3 loops and attach this blank in the center to the base.
Turn the fluffy over and glue another row of loops along the outer edge.
Now you need to attach an elastic band or a hairpin and the decoration is ready.
