Knitted envelope

Sometimes you may need a gift envelope for bills or postcards, or maybe for other small gift items. And such an envelope does not have to be standard paper. You can diversify the look of this packaging by making the envelope knitted. Moreover, the basis may be the same, but the design options may be different.

Classic white envelope. Therefore, by choosing a white thread, you can support this classic. For simple knitting, you can use both knitting needles and a crochet hook. The size is selected depending on the thickness of the threads, taking into account that the knitting should be quite dense.

We take the necessary measurements to get the desired envelope size. For convenience, we will make a mock-up of a paper envelope according to the required dimensions.
Knitting we start with a chain of air loops, the length corresponding to the length of one of the sides of the envelope. In this case, the product can be knitted both lengthwise and crosswise, depending on how you outlined the option for the envelope.

It turns out a rectangle with the required sides according to measurements. We fold the rectangle into an envelope, i.e.we bend its lower part and knit the folded sides together, decorating the edge of the envelope with single crochets. We make the corners of the upper part rounded by knitting two single crochets in them.

We get a simple white envelope of the required size. The highlight of it will be the design, which can be selected from what is at your disposal.

The design can be a flat bow or a striped bow. Such an envelope will resemble a small clutch bag. By the way, it can be used to store a mirror or lipstick.

The envelope can also be decorated with an applique or colored buttons, giving it either a childish naivety or a more strict, official image. A child's envelope can later become a school pencil case, and the laconic and discreet packaging can be used to store headphones, chargers and other similar small items.
