We sew a carpet of peace
Children in the house are, without a doubt, happiness! But when the weekend drags on, it’s minus 30 degrees outside, and there are more than two children in the apartment, chaos ensues. Children get bored with the monotony of life and look for entertainment. Often - in a good quarrel. It is at this moment that parents’ behavior should be at its best. A carpet of peace will help resolve the children's state of war peacefully. The rules are simple: both sit down, stand up only after the onset of blissful silence and complete truce.
Materials for work:
For the base, two types of fabric are taken: dense, plain (for thematic appliques) and stitched on padding polyester (so that real butts do not freeze). The front side in this master class is slightly narrower than the back side.

We cut out two “butts” from beige plain fabric. It is on them that fighters will subsequently sit.

For a positive impact, we select thematic applications.Waffle bright colored fabrics are very suitable for them. We cut out two stories.

Place the sun in the center of the carpet. To do this, draw a circle on a piece of red fabric.

On its sides we add rays, inside – eyebrows, nose and mouth.

We place all the details on top of the main fabric, having previously made an indent on the sides (for subsequent stitching with the wrong side): butts and thematic appliqués in different corners, the sun in the middle. We pin the parts to the base.

We start sewing from the center (to avoid the formation of a bubble inside the “butt”). We embroider a figure eight with a straight stitch.

On the reverse side it looks like this.

We stitch the edges of the pop with a zigzag stitch, making it as tight as possible.

In order to prevent the fabric on the appliqué from fraying, we make another circle in a “zigzag” pattern with threads of a different color. The machine foot should move so that it catches part of the base fabric and half of the previous zigzag stitch.

To avoid correction of the design, use white threads to sew the white appliqué parts with a straight stitch.

Along the edges of the pattern we sew two seams in a zigzag pattern with threads of different colors.

We start stitching from the center, carefully smoothing the fabric as we turn the presser foot. Using a zigzag stitch, we embroider the eyebrows, nose, and mouth with even threads.

Carefully iron the embroidery on the reverse side (using the steam function).

Use red threads to sew a circle of the sun using a zigzag stitch and iron it on the reverse side.

We embroider rays with yellow threads.

We cut off the excess fabric, trying not to touch the seams on the rays.

We make a second line of black color on the rays (grabbing the cut edge and part of the previous line).

We revive the sunny smile with a tongue (stitched with a zagzag with red threads).

After ironing all the applique pieces, fold the main fabric and stitch with right sides facing inward. Sew along the edge on three sides. Turn it inside out. We fasten the fourth side with pins, having first folded the edges of the fabrics inward.

Using a decorative stitch, we sew the carpet along the entire perimeter from the front side.

That's all! Such a positive solution to a conflict situation will clearly not go unnoticed by little arguers and fighters. It will arouse interest, and, therefore, increase the chances of peace in the house.
