Candy cake
Cake has always been the main attribute of any holiday, be it a wedding, the birthday of a child or an elderly person, a name day or a tea party. Without cake, fun is not fun, and a feast is not a feast. Everyone is waiting for a delicious sweet treat at the end of the celebration. But there are some cakes that deserve to be present at the celebration from the very beginning. This is a three-tiered candy cake that you can make yourself without special skills.
To work you need to assemble the following components:
- polystyrene foam 15 cm thick;
- stationery knife;
- wrapping paper with a bright print;
- double sided tape;
- thermo gun;
- long thin candies (2.5 kg);
- ribbons of different widths and adjacent shades;
- corrugated paper, for example, lilac and purple;
- decorative berries;
- artificial greenery (twigs, leaves).
To begin, you need to cut out three circles from thick foam. This is easy to do with a regular stationery knife. The bottom circle should be 50 cm in diameter, the middle circle should be 40 cm, and the top circle should be 30 cm.
All foam blanks are covered with beautiful wrapping paper with a bright print. Its color should match the shade of the candy wrapper.
Then all three circles are glued together into a high pyramid using a heat gun.
Now you need to cover the sides of the cake with long thin candies. To do this, double-sided tape is glued to the top and bottom edges of the side, and sweets are molded onto it. It is important to ensure that the wrapper lies evenly on top and bottom.
Then satin ribbons are glued to the candies. The first to fix is a lilac ribbon 5 cm wide, a dark purple one 2.5 cm wide is glued onto it. They are attached to the candies with a heat gun.
To make the cake look more elegant, you need to decorate it with bows made of satin ribbons. One lush bow on each circle will be enough. Thanks to these elements, the front part of the cake stands out.
The craft needs to be decorated with flowers and miniature bouquets. You can form buds of small roses from foamiran (sheet synthetic material).7
It’s easier to buy ready-made small bouquets that will look great on the cake.
But the most delicate and lush flowers are made from corrugated paper. If you use lilac and purple circles, you can make beautiful open roses.
All that remains is to place all decor on the tiers of the cake.
A bouquet of roses formed from corrugated paper is attached to the top. In addition to them there are leaves made of fabric.
On the second tier there are flowers made of foamiran, alternating with berries and green leaves. Lilac flowers made of corrugated paper would also be appropriate here.
The lower tier is covered with sweets and miniature artificial bouquets.
