We sew a chair cover with our own hands
I present to your attention a master class on sewing a chair cover. Old denim trousers and remnants of curtain fabric were used to sew it. A piece of padding polyester is needed for the layer. Its size should match the size of the chair. Material costs are minimal. You need your desire, thread and machine. Let's get started!
1. We have such a chair. Its top has worn out and lost its “marketable” appearance. Let's try to freshen it up.
2. Take a large sheet of paper. Turn the chair over. Let's put it on paper.
3. Trace along the contour with a pencil.
4. Cut it out. We get the pattern of the cover.
5. Materials: old jeans and scraps of green fabric.
6. Cut out the templates. A square whose side is 7.5 cm. A triangle whose sides are 7.5 cm.
7. Use a heart-shaped patchwork block template.
8. Cut out: six green squares, eight green triangles, two blue squares, eight blue triangles.
9. We make a block from the blanks.
10. The block consists of four stripes.
11. Machine sew the first strip. We steam it with an iron. Then we sew the remaining strips.
12. We sew the finished strips together.
13. Cut strips of denim. The width of the strips is 4 cm. The length is equal to the width of the finished block.
14. Make a frame around the block.
15. Cut the same strips of green fabric. And we frame the block.
16. Cut strips of denim 14 cm long. Sew on as shown in the photo.
17. Cut out a piece of padding polyester. It should be the size of the pattern.
18. Making a sandwich: purl fabric, padding polyester, patchwork block. We pin it with pins.
19. Make a machine stitch, seam to seam.
20. Turn the chair over. Unscrew the screws.
21. Place the quilted fabric on the seat. Align well.
22. We attach the canvas to the back of the seat. This can be done with strong threads. You can use a construction stapler.
23. Tighten the screws. We admire our work.
