Cool tool box made from an old canister

If you have an old, unnecessary, metal canister lying around, then you can use it to make a super cool box for carrying or storing tools. Almost a collector's item that you wouldn't even be ashamed to give as a gift. And when your friends see this, they will definitely envy you.
Making a tool box from a canister
If the canister was previously used to transport petroleum products, fill it with water and rinse thoroughly.
Now we mark the cutting line. Scratch a straight line along the entire perimeter with a core.

Using a grinder, cut straight along the line.

We clean sharp edges from burrs. Next, take the base and apply it to the chipboard sheet. We trace with a pencil.

Cut two pieces roughly. Then, using a jigsaw, we bring the parts of the inner box to fit the curves of the canister. Then we clean the edges with fine sandpaper.

We wrap the edge of the canister with a rubberized pad.

From the same chipboard we cut out two rectangles to match the height of the inner drawer.

We assemble the structure.

We make three small drawers that will be inserted inside the large one. Glue it with wood glue.

We nail the bottom with a furniture stapler.

Place it in a large box.

We make partitions from thin plywood.

Drill a hole in the center and install a ring nut. We will use it to pull out the box from the base of the canister.

Holes are also made on top for installing the tool itself. On the sides, in the upper part, chipboard elements are glued under the tool that is planned to be stored. Everything is individual.

The upper part of the canister is connected to the base using a loop.

A latch lock is screwed into the opposite side, which opens the canister and prevents it from opening when closed.

Now everything is ready. We fill small drawers with the necessary things.

And a tool.

Next we put it all in a canister.

We close it and take it wherever we want.

In such a case, the instrument will be in its place even with strong vibration. So you can make one specifically for a car.
